The Arab Forum for Women’s Health thanks President El-Sisi for his support of Egyptian women

For his part, the President of the Egyptian Society of Cervical Endoscopy and the Chairman of the Forum, Dr. Muhammad Al-Azab, that there is a different vision and thought in Egypt that targets the citizen in general and the woman in particular, and this was represented in the presidential campaigns, most notably the 100 Million Health Campaign, and the Egyptian Initiative for Women’s Health, which confronts breast cancer by raising awareness of the importance of examination and early detection and providing opportunities for good treatment for injured women.

Dr. Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, emphasized that a healthy life is the first and most important human right, especially for women, who represent a large proportion of Egyptian society, noting that the lack of financial resources is not always the main problem facing society, but sometimes the main problem is the lack of awareness and quality education. And health care. A woman who enjoys good health and good awareness can participate in all aspects of life, whether social, economic or political.

During her speech at the Arab Forum for Women’s Health, Kabbaj indicated that breast cancer is the highest prevalence among cancers that affect women with a rate of up to 35%, followed by liver cancer with a rate of 14%, then lymphoma with a rate ranging between 5-7%, then ovarian cancer. And the cervix by less than 5%, warning that there are 68,000 new cases of breast cancer, including 41,000 deaths, which is a worrying number because it indicates a lack of awareness of the importance and methods of early detection of the disease, especially with the high chances of recovery, which reach 98% if done. Early detection of the disease.

The Minister of Solidarity confirmed that there is still a lack of good health services in the countryside, especially with regard to women, due to the small number of female doctors who work in remote and border areas, in addition to the spread of circumcision and early marriage habits, which places health, psychological and physical burdens on women, as well as the lack of hygiene items and means of prevention. avoiding infection, repeated pregnancy and childbirth, and declining awareness of reproductive health, which prompted the state to place women’s health at the top of its priorities by launching the presidential initiative for women’s health, which includes early detection and treatment of breast cancer, pointing out that the Ministry of Social Solidarity will support this issue by supporting working civil society institutions In the field of women’s health, and increasing the number of community leaders from 2,500 to 20,000 pioneers. Among their tasks will be raising awareness of methods of early detection of breast cancer and reproductive health, in addition to launching an electronic system for civil institutions to organize the practice of civil work and discover the areas most lacking in various services, including health services.

Al-Qabbaj thanked all state institutions that support women’s and family issues in general, the Women’s Health Forum and the Egyptian Cervical Endoscopy Association for their tangible efforts in highlighting women’s health issues.

It is noteworthy that the Arab Forum for Women’s Health aims to shed light on cancers that threaten women’s health, especially breast cancer and the reproductive system, such as cancer of the cervix, ovaries and uterus, as well as raising the level of health awareness among Arab women to avoid the most common cancer diseases among women, and methods of prevention and early detection.
